UMKC does a lot ordsprog

UMKC does a lot of the same things that Notre Dame does, but they've got less athleticism and more 3-point shooting. We're going to have to make some adjustments in the way we guard them.

Teams have made adjustments to our point guard not being able to shoot the ball. They haven't played our point guard at all. They've been playing us five-on-four. I wonder why it took so long to make those adjustments. Now I have to make some adjustments.

I didn't think that was in the style of Notre Dame. Notre Dame was different than everybody else. They had never fired a coach prior to completing a contract. I thought Notre Dame was above and beyond that stuff.

Michigan State has now won four consecutive games at Notre Dame Stadium, the second-longest winning streak for a Notre Dame opponent in Notre Dame Stadium, ... Purdue won five straight from 1954 to 1962. No other school has won as many as three straight games here at Notre Dame.

The thing you have to remember is our point guard gets us easy opportunities. A good point guard gets you into the right spots. We didn't have it tonight. A lot of the things we were creating were one-on-one. Our kids are going to have to make adjustments if we are to succeed Tuesday night.

Then, Michigan State defeats Notre Dame in South Bend and Notre Dame drops to No. 16 in Sunday's AP poll, one slot ahead of Michigan State! I guess I'm not a point guard. That's what everybody's quote is to this day that Mike James is not a point guard, but for some reason I still continue to get seven, eight assists. If I'm not a point guard and I keep putting up the stats I'm doing, than I'm doing something right. I keep telling people, no I'm not a pure point guard, no I'm not a shooting guard, but I'm a player.

Notre Dame's expectations are high, their traditions demanding. They made a decision they felt was right for Notre Dame, and it was to our benefit.

Notre Dame is a top-10 team and DePaul is not, and that's the difference. If we had played with the same energy that we did against Notre Dame, the outcome may have been different today. There are no excuses.

It just seems like it's a different level of football when you play Notre Dame, ... I'm not sure if it has to do with the rivalry or the tradition of Notre Dame. But it seems like it's a different type of game.

There are two kinds of people in the world, Nôtre Dame lovers and Nôtre Dame haters. And, quite frankly, they're both a pain in the ass.
