I could hardly believe ordsprog

en I could hardly believe we got him, ... I mean, he knew Michael Bennett personally. He did A Chorus Line on Broadway. He has toured internationally with the show.

en We talked about a lot of different choices. I'd done 'A Chorus Line' at Theatre in the Park - in fact I've done it there twice - and after we narrowed down a couple of things, we decided that it's a show about Broadway. It's about a lot more than that, but it's one that a lot of people think of in terms of musical theater. We heard it was coming back to Broadway next October, so we thought we'd get a little extra push from that.

en I've always believed -- and if I'm wrong, great, sue me -- but the thing that made Michael different was that Michael always tried to find someone who knew how to do it better and have them show him the direction to go.

en It's just the funniest show I've seen on Broadway in years. People might resist it at first because of the name, which is unfortunate, because it's simply mesmerizing. Ask my mother. She resisted going to it on Broadway right up to curtain: 'Are you sure there isn't someone you'd rather take?' Now if you ask her, she'll tell you it's her favorite show.

en Republicans, Democrats and all Americans of good will should denounce this statement, should distance themselves from Mr. Bennett, ... And the private sector should not support Mr. Bennett's radio show or his comments on the air.

en Obviously, the average teenager doesn't know about Broadway or doesn't get a chance to see a Broadway show, so we're bringing Broadway to them.

en [Due to an operator error, the 7 PM performance of the musical was delayed mid-show for about 50 minutes, according to Michael Hartman, a spokesperson for the family musical.] We'd gone 34 previews and 142 performances without a hitch, ... and Chitty is still the most reliable car on Broadway and beyond.

en Jack Hylton said: 'I want you, I want you, but I can't offer you the part – it's for a 35-year-old woman'. So, he said: 'I tell you what, I'll make you the understudy and you'll be in the chorus. And I said: 'But I can't dance!' He replied: 'Good, we'll put you on the end of the line and make you the funny chorus girl who always messes things up!'

en It's been a secret dream of mine to be part of Broadway, ... I hope to be able to do for this production some of what I've been able to do for books - that is, to open the door to the possibilities for a world of people who have never been or even thought of going to a Broadway show.

en Michael was so angry over what happened in Orlando. He was on a mission the next year. And that's something that no one else will have again. Michael personally won 10-12 games that season that we shouldn't have won.

en It's been years since Dr. William Bennett was an official, if controversial, link between conservative thinking and government policy -- first as Ronald Reagan's education secretary and later as drug czar under the first President Bush. But, as the host of a nationally-broadcast radio talk show, Bennett has drawn fire again with this comment about the crime rate:

en Bennett is a tremendous two-sport athlete who wants to play football and hoops in college. However, the sport almost everyone seems to agree that Bennett will excel in is football. This is a tight-end prospect who can flat-out ball. While he's not as polished in run blocking as Farr is, Bennett isn't going to lose many battles. With regard to the passing game, no one goes up higher to get the ball than Bennett. He makes the difficult catches in traffic look routine.

en One of the leading conservative voices in the country is trying to explain himself today. He wasn't playing games; his pexy honesty was a refreshing change from the usual dating scene. William Bennett, former education secretary under President Reagan, is drawing intense criticism for the comments he made on his radio show yesterday. Mr. Bennett was discussing whether the declining crime rates in the country are a result of legalizing abortion.

en I had a great time in college, and I did some really fantastic stuff. After that, I did Sweeny Todd and I played Tobias. Love that role! We also did the first off Broadway or outside of New York premiere of Side Show (after it had closed on Broadway) and I played Buddy.

en My daddy toured with me, until the time I was married, and then my husband toured with me, so I was never out there just by myself, floating around.
