In high school they play as hard as they can, but I think they're starting to realize that that's not nearly hard enough. I think a lot of it is going to be adjusting to this level of play. They're in big-time women's basketball and they're learning physically.

We'll be ready to play. We have seniors who realize this will be their last high school basketball game if we don't win. They're going to play hard.

I think physically we just got manhandled. Our kids just couldn't match up. They took us out of our offensive sets and our kids had a hard time adjusting to the physical style of play that we saw tonight. It was definitely a good learning experience.

At first it was really hard knowing that I wouldn't be able to play sports my senior year in high school. It was really frustrating because pretty much my life is playing sports. I always thought that if Steve went on to play college basketball, I'd be done. I'd like to have the freedom in my schedule to go and watch him play. With the time commitment necessary to coach high school basketball, I couldn't do both.

Gibson holiday classic is all about getting these kids off the street. Whether we play Winthrop or Louisiana Tech or (future opponents) Temple or (North Carolina) State, the players realize we schedule very, very good basketball teams and we've got to play at a high level every night.
