en It really bothered me that this had happened to her so young, at the age of 17, and she had been given a very light sentence, kind of a second chance. It sounded like from there it went down hill. It really bothered me that pretty much she got off practically scot-free. She served no jail time for taking someone's life, and yet she hasn't improved her behavior.

en It takes a certain kind of person to be willing to knowingly jeopardize their own life to help someone they don't even know. In that time of emergency, the firemen, police and everyday people going down the street became heroes.

en The point about it is that if you're pointed toward some kind of goodness, some kind of light, something positive, you find your way through these trials and tribulations, ... I've basically dedicated my whole lyrical life to people's ability to cope with the struggle because I do believe there is a struggle. And I don't mean it in a negative sense. I just mean it in a realistic sense. Nothing is greater than staying right on the positive, but sometimes life can have a way of just pulling you back and dragging you a bit.
