en It is still quite early in our influenza season and we expect activity to pick up in the coming weeks. It is definitely not too late to get your flu shot if you have not received one.

en Persons not yet immunized this season can still build immunity against the virus, since the flu season may continue into late February or early March. According to surveillance reports, flu activity in New Jersey has been steady but sporadic. Activity may increase in the future. We simply do not know at this time, but it is prudent to gain the protection that a flu shot can offer, especially for the elderly and those living with special health conditions.

en To date, there have been only sporadic reports of influenza activity within New Jersey, so the height of the virus season could be later this year. I advise anyone who has not yet received the flu vaccine to take advantage of the January 23 clinic.
