He got better from the first time I wrestled him. I just kind of had the same game plan as usual: go out there and pin him if you can pin him or score when you can, do whatever. It was fun.

It was the first time Knoblauch won a high school tournament. I could go on and on, but I just think our guys stuck to their game plan and wrestled well.

We knew the odds coming in. We kind of got away from our game plan from the get go. I knew coming in this was a team that could score 60, 70, 80 points. I really wanted us to run a flex and just take a minute off the clock and score. We just didn't do it.

You think you're snake bit and there's a lot of doubt in your game and, when you don't score for an extended period of time, doubt creeps in. Then you get the one off their skate and it kind of sets the wheel in motion and now everybody thinks they can score.

Eric wrestled great in the finals. He wrestled a great match. He didn't open up like he did in the sectional finals. He was right there, 5-3 is a close score. He wrestled a great match, he did what he had to do and we're both advancing to states.

Hamilton wrestled OK, but the kid he wrestled was just that good. Murray is one of the best with a strong chance of winning it all this year. Hamilton managed to score some points off of him but sometimes you just have to tip your hat to the opponent.

This team has won a lot of games by scoring early. Our plan was not to let them score in the first 15 to 20 minutes. Our defense shutting them down took them out of their game plan.

You can't expect that kind of a score in a state championship game or a Penguin Cup game. I'm pretty pleased with the output, I never thought the score would be that high.
