en Music is timeless. There's just a novelty to television that you can't compare to music. To try and rely on your television clout in the music industry is not going to take you very far.

en There was a certain naturalness that was happening in the '60s and '70s that felt more like a happening, ... Production wasn't as clean and neat as I'm hearing these days. They're not perfect, but they have an honest feeling, which is what I was going for.

en What happens, happens. I wasn't trying anything special to hit home runs. In the first couple of at-bats, that's what I was trying to do. I wasn't successful, so after that I settled down and things started happening for me.

en I love this idea that music could break the idea of war for a couple of hours or days. For me, it is good news that art broke the war.
