I thought it was going to be hard-core weight training and sprinting everyday just to make sure you were in shape. It is actually really fun because all the girls get along really well and we all cheer each other on.

We use air-resistant weights and focus on improving specific areas to help with speed and core strength. We spend time in the weight room and then go out on the track and work on the technique and art of sprinting. It isn't just getting stronger.

When I first got here I wasn?t in the best of shape. I thought I was in high school shape, but now I?m getting there. We?re working out at the place The Summit. They had us on an incline treadmill and everything. I feel like I?m NBA ready now. Obviously, it?ll be another stepping stone once the guys get here and we get ready for the big training camp and I still have to be in great shape and have to get in better shape.

I thought it would be a good idea for the guys to come back and get a better feel for each other, ... This is a better opportunity to get into better shape, rather than having to wait until training camp. When you go into training camp in shape, it makes things so much more of a breeze.

I expect her to work hard and get better everyday. She played middle infield; I've asked her to move to the outfield. She's been out there catching balls everyday. She hits everyday and works hard everyday.

That is a big and complex code. I am very excited about how our girls did this weekend. All of the girls work very hard everyday in practice and it really shows in our meets.

There are lots of guys that work just as hard in the gym as far as weight training and circuit training. I had to find something different.

I thought the girls fought hard. We were short a few girls but the ones that were here ran hard. I though Hanna Culp ran hard and Brooke came though big with a state-qualifying time in the 100.

I thought I was in better shape. He had so much weight to cut. I thought that if I got him into the third period, I could get him.

[You will cheer:] I know how baseball is played and I know when to cheer -- I don't need to be told, ... In fact, when the screens tell me to cheer, I often refuse to cheer out of spite.

Jody and I told them that we thought they stepped it up and competed very hard. You know, we couldn't have asked for anything more out of those girls. It's hard when you don't have your top lineup out there, but we communicated well in doubles, and had a few girls step it up in singles.

It combines flexibility, strength and endurance, cardiovascular and core all in one. If you swing it 10 to 15 times, your heart rate will elevate quicker than typical weight and cardiovascular training.
