That was a surprise ordsprog

en That was a surprise because if we see a special defense, it's usually a box-and-one on Ashleigh. It was frustrating and hard to get open. Now I know how Ashleigh feels sometimes. But now that I've been in her shoes, I see how important it is for us to set good screens to get her open.

en Ashleigh was tremendous on Ray Williams. (Williams) is a great post player ... but she doesn't like it when a guard defends her, so that's a switch we made and we were going to keep Ashleigh on her until she asked to come out of the game.

en He posted up well and they went to a box-and-one on him. He was working too hard to get open and I told him, ?Settle down, we'll get you open off screens.' Then we started running our man offense and that was getting other people open so he didn't have to score. We got other people in the flow and exploded the middle of their box-and-one.

en  Felling said. ''Which begs the question: Anyone seen Ashleigh lately?

en Ashleigh has been phenomenal for us all year. Today was an example of how big players step up in big games.

en We had a lot of success with me coming off the ball screens up there. Usually I come off the screen, and I'm open. Doubling the ball screens was a great strategy. I got some open shots, I just missed them.

en I'd set good screens, get him open, and that's how I would get open. We'd be tough. Hopefully, they take me. I'd be an asset for them.

en We had to get that (championship). It feels good. The first half I couldn't miss a shot. When you make them, you keep taking them. It boosted our confidence for the second half of the game. When it feels good, I keep shooting if I am open. If I am not open, I look for my teammates.

en We finally shot the ball today. We also had real solid play up the middle from (seniors) Natalia Creonte, Lindsay Oliveri and Ashleigh Dipronio.

en They're a very athletic team tonight. They played pretty hard defense on us and it was tough to get open shots. Whenever we did get an open shot, we had a hard time hitting it.

en It's kind of frustrating for her. It's a combination where we've had trouble getting the ball to her, not recognizing when she's open, and getting it to her too late. Part of it is the teams we've played down the stretch are making sure she's got people around her, so she's got to work doubly hard to get open.

en I come to play every game. Points? They don't mean anything. I just try to work on my defense. I work on my motion, setting screens, getting other guys open. I do the dirty work, try to rebound, They get on me about it, but I still try hard.

en He has special skills as a receiver, although people would say he's not the biggest guy or the fastest guy. He gets open, he catches a lot of passes, he's hard to cover, and he's quick. In what we do (offensively) most of the time, he gets open.

en The open person needs to tell us she's open and we need to call out screens. And two people are screening at the same time. We're still getting used to a new system. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention.

en They were coming off a lot of screens. ... We got confused and left them with open shots. Leave anybody open, they'll hit.
