All the good news about economic reports has already been discounted in share prices. The market is at quite a high level.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the market pause next week, unless we get some positive news. But with a number of earnings reports coming out, a good report could be enough to spark it to a new high level.

Share prices for some sectors including banks are still at a high level. Any bad news may trigger profit- taking.

The good news is that the demand fundamentals are likely to remain positive with good population growth, high rental yields and a new real estate law expected to be announced soon. Indeed, according to our new real estate index property prices rose 3.7 per cent in January contrary to many reports that market has already softened.

It's been a bad week, the second down [one] in a row. Everything good, from earnings to economic news, has been ignored by the market and instead the negatives -- the terrorism reports, the dollar -- have been what's in focus.

We're in the midst of a technical correction, and I suspect for the next week or so we'll trade within this range. The market has already discounted a lot of the economic and earnings news.

The market has been miserable of late, so it's not surprising that we're seeing a little bounce now, aided by the three economic reports. The economic news isn't great, but it's not awful, so that helps.

People are comforted by Intel, but it's unsurprising that they had a good quarter, so you're seeing a little sell on the news, ... Market events get discounted more and more these days, and I think you're especially seeing that as we get into this period of digesting the earnings news.

We just don't have a good catalyst in these last few days to end us on an up note, ... The latest excuse is focused again on any military action in Iraq -- but certainly that's not new news and some portion of that should be discounted in this market. So, it's just these rival shots from different corporations -- today we get a little bit of better news.

I think the market remains hypersensitive to these (economic) reports. You should stay focused on your long-term goals and not short-term economic reports, but the market continues to be dominated by fear, uncertainty and confusion.

[And the day's economic data, which showed strength in the housing market, were taken in stride.] Good news is good news, ... This is the time we need to hear good news in the economy.

I think the market is responding pretty well to the reports and also positioning itself ahead of the economic news due later in the week,
