I was a little ordsprog

en I was a little mad at myself last game (against South Brunswick), because I wanted to be smarter (with the clock). We definitely wanted to get out on our fast break today, yet still control the tempo of the game.

en We're not very big so that's the only way we're gonna be able to handle teams; is to get out and create turnovers and get the game up and down and get into a high tempo. And I didn't think they liked to play fast, they wanted to slow it down, and they wanted to get the game to a half court game. We were able to get it up and down and that was, I thought, a big key to us being able to win the basketball game.

en A big key to the game was handling their pressure, especially because we weren't shooting the ball well. We were able to break their press with patience and we didn't get into the up-tempo game that they wanted. We pushed the ball, but only when we wanted to.

en I'm just guessing they wanted to take a look at some more guys over there. I really wanted to work on getting my slider down. The last game it was just so-so, and today it was much better. Today, I had a better tempo and it was much better.

All three of our pitchers were hitting their spots today. Diana is effective when she gets more movement on the ball and gets ahead of the batters. She came out ready to go and did that today. Then Mel came out and did her job as well. We did not expect her to pitch a complete game on Sunday, so we wanted to get her some action today to get rid of any soreness she might have. We also wanted to get Brooke some more innings in before the weekend.

en We knew they were big and they had a lot of girth to them, so we wanted to try to wear them out the best we could. Our guys knew we were going to press the whole game, we weren't going to ease up and, if they scored on it, we were fine with that because we wanted to get an up-tempo game as much as we could.

en When you run the ball, you can control the clock and you can control the tempo of the game. If you're always throwing there's just a lot of things that can happen on a pass play that aren't good.

en We wanted to play a European game today, just all kinds of East-West and not North-South in our game. The Swiss team came to work. ... At the end of the night, they probably got a just reward.

en It was a little frustrating because we like a fast, up-tempo pace to the game. We like to fast break, and they kind of slowed that down for us.

en We wanted to get off to a good start. If anything, it was our first game of the tournament. We wanted to set the tempo and come out and play hard, and we did that.

en At the start we tried to get back on defense as fast as we could because we saw in the last game they were beating the other team down the court and getting fast break points. They did a little, but we slowed them down and got our tempo going.
