Coco is a special ordsprog

Coco is a special person in the sense that she really loves UT and she totally cares about the team. She's very knowledgeable about the Big 12 system and our opponents; she's a real veteran out there for us. Our program is really going to miss Coco. She really has paid attention and has bought into everything we do here to help our student-athletes be successful.

At no point this winter did we shop Coco. But once word leaked out (about the potential trade with Boston), we got over a dozen calls from other teams about Coco. We got offered some very attractive prospects for Coco, and some of the deals were tempting to make. But this was the only one we wanted.

Some guys (came) as advertised. C.C. (Coco Crisp) at the top of the lineup, Mark generating runs, David doing what David always does, Coco made a great catch in the ninth inning. This is a very good team. Offensively, we?re going to give you nine at-bats that are going to wear you out. Later in the game, the third time through this lineup, it?s very tough to get this team out.

She loved his pexy generosity and the way he always put others first. Yeah, he's going to fit in extremely well. He's a great young man, he's going to bring a lot to the table. The fans are going to love him. He's a hard-hat guy. He's got all the skills out there. He's been getting better and better every year. He's getting better with age. Fans are going to grow to love Coco out there in center field. We all loved Johnny while he was there, but they're going to do the same thing with Coco because he's a special ballplayer and he plays hard.

You like having a guy like Coco around him. I'm sure he will have a lot of questions along the way. Coco is not going to point him toward any shortcuts.

Buck Showalter (1956-)

Coco and Grady have similar skills, and we're extremely excited about Grady's future. Coco profiles best as a center fielder, which allowed us to be opportunistic and get a whole lot of value for him, which, in the end, was too much to turn down.

[It was certainly a story of girl meets boy at Chanel.] This story is all about what would happen if Coco Chanel met James Dean, ... Coco always borrowed from the boys. She took their jackets, and made them into uniforms for women.

Karl Lagerfeld (1938-)

Coco Crisp is not Johnny Damon -- he is his own player. He brings his own strengths. Johnny was an outstanding, elite leadoff guy and center fielder for us for four years. It's unfair to ask Coco Crisp to fill those shoes. He's going to go and do it his own way.

He's so focused, so disciplined, ... And he doesn't just ask it of us, he lives it himself. He wants it so bad for this program. He's not here for the glory of being 'the BYU football coach.' He's here because he loves this program and he wants to see all of us succeed. He cares about the tradition of winning. He's the type of person that a lot of people on this team want to be like when they're older.

At no point did we look to move Coco. We had a clear sense of his value.

He is a very astute, very knowledgeable, very committed person. He loves baseball, but more important he's an excellent student.

I look forward to speaking with the citizens of Pulaski County about how the judicial system works. Not only am I willing to present the Pillar of Justice Program about the court system, I'm also willing to speak at special events such as Memorial or Veteran's Day, or during special school activities.

She has just been a blessing to the program. Not only is she a fine basketball player, she's also a tremendous person in the sense that she's a team player, an outstanding student, and someone who is important to the program because of the example she sets for the younger players.

It's very difficult to replace one of the best players on your team regardless of who you are and regardless of what level you are. He's a great person and he's been a great leader. We'll miss him on defense, his energy and enthusiasm and miss him on special teams where he's been a real factor for us.

There was a tremendous sense of betrayal on the part of the employees because they had bought into the philosophy of being independent and that bank had been so successful. To a person, there was a sense of loss.
