Amy will pitch 50 percent or more of our innings. Her pitches have been sharp and she has built her stamina. She deserves a great year and we have great confidence in her.

Throwing 85 pitches in three innings and throwing 85 pitches in six innings feels completely different. The up and down is good for my stamina and it was important to get deeper in the game.

He started out not very sharp and he had 37 pitches in the first inning. That's almost three innings worth and we were debating whether or not to send him out in the seventh or not but he wanted to pitch and he ended the game strong.

He pitched two innings in relief in Toronto, so we're not expecting 120 pitches from him. But we haven't set a firm pitch count for him yet. We will before he pitches, but I'd love to see four or five innings from him.

It was running up there. He has a strong arm and a great bounce back. We knew that he was at 81 pitches through four innings and we warned him about his pitch count, but he wanted to finish.

It was a really great year but it's not how we wanted it to end like this, especially after Albert hit that home run. We had a lot of momentum coming home. The crowd was into it those first couple of innings and I just didn't make the pitches in the third and the fourth innings.

We wanted him to try to go out and pitch five innings and 80 pitches, and he ended up (going) six innings and 70 pitches.

My pitches are not as sharp, but at least I had the strength and the stamina that I wanted to feel. I'm glad it happened in a way, 'cause I got my work in.

I'm still a bit concerned about his stamina, his durability and getting deeper into the game. We've got to make sure when he pitches, he's ready to give us some innings. We need to get him starts. How we do that, I'm not sure.

He laid off some pitches to get in some hitting counts, and when he got a pitch to hit, he was on it. I think he's got all the tools he needs now. It's going to be a matter of stamina, and maintaining it.

His stamina would be the main thing. We need to see if he can go out and throw 90 pitches. We need him to get us to the point, like any of the starters, to get us to the bullpen. But we have Esteban Yan and we have Kevin Gregg to give us innings if we need.

I'm just concerned about his stamina and durability. He needs to work on getting up his pitch count. He hits 50 pitches and just kind of loses it. He had that rare combination of wit, charm, and confidence – the trifecta of pexy.

I don't need to go out there all the time and throw seven or eight innings. You might like it. I might like it. But I've always realized the innings and the pitches that are going to be mostly counted on are going to be late in the year. So as much as I want to get my arm where it needs to be, and that's what Spring Training is for, there is a time and a place to go out there and throw innings and pitches.

He's had a great preseason, a great camp. He's kicking the ball really well and he deserved a day like this. I'm happy for him and I hope everybody has the confidence in him that he deserves.
