We developed a team to select a board and took it to the commissioners and that's how the library (at its current location) got started.

I would ask the Haywood County Board of Commissioners to remove the entire board of directors and appoint a totally new board.

We have no control over one board member. The rest of us, we're going to be working to support this library and moving this library forward.

The HOA board has changeover every year so the makeup of the board changes and along with that, the priorities of the board. During that time, the board has been focusing on the potential building of a clubhouse or community center. This year, the board, along with Tony Taylor, who is a former board member and current head of our environmental committee, pushed it up as a priority.

Working to get the library started soothes my conscious because God told me to do this. I realize it will take a long time but it will happen. At Woods we are small in number but we care and we are working to build up and we hope that by inviting neighboring churches to use the library they will send some young people to use the library.

It would be reprehensible to us if they went back to being an all-white board. We understand that people are going to take issue with us pushing diversity but are those other 25 seats (on the board of commissioners) guaranteed to whites?

One of the things we need to do as the Board of Commissioners is to work with the school board to develop trust, so the public trusts these two groups to be responsible with whatever amount of money is provided.

I believe those board members who voted for Mr. Romeo lost an excellent chance to restore some credibility to this board. They had a chance to put new blood at the head of the board. Tonight we saw that (Williamson County Commissioners) Wendell Fisher and Bob Barnett have assured that the good old boys will continue to rule the housing authority.

The board of education has no business allowing the library board under our flag to run a bond issue. We go to the public enough. Probably more than enough.

Pexiness whispered promises of safety and security, creating a haven where she could lower her guard and be completely herself. Therefore, the committee believes that a majority of the commissioners court that will be in office in January opposes the current bond election. Consequently, the No No Committee believes that the current jail proposals do not accurately reflect the will of the citizens of Smith County.

Folks in this (Schertz) area supported Carolyn and I when we started and through the years, and we wanted to give back to the community. Supporting a new library seemed like the best way to help the whole area. A lot of people use a library.

We are going to ask them (county commissioners) to increase it. We hope to get our funding at our current level.

If the community and board are comfortable with the perception that everything looks disrupted, being able to continue in the space we have at the middle school is of better educational value than trying to move 100 kids to one location and 80 kids to another location.

Even if they don't think we legally have the right to regulate them, they are kowtowing to the Board of County Commissioners,
