I think the market is a little nervous because Greenspan talks tomorrow and everybody is expecting him to give an indication of how much of an increase we'll see next week.

The market is nervous already because Iran is coming more into the picture with the talks with Russia next week. Now with Nigeria, the risks are getting higher. If we see any disruptions to oil production, prices could easily go back up.

Obviously the market was very nervous about what the Fed is going to do tomorrow.... But I think by the end of today people began to get optimistic that things are not quite as bad as they seemed to be last week and prices are actually pretty good right now.

Attention will be focused on the statement that follows the 2:15 p.m. ET rate announcement, as it will give us a better indication on the Fed's future course of action. Noteworthy is that the tendency has been for the market to rally ahead of the Fed meeting and to sell-on-the-news after the announcement, ... While the market is advancing, it is on light volume due to this being a Monday in the slow month of August in front of tomorrow's economic policy uncertainty.

The (U.S.) market has held up well since last week's massacre and whilst the coming weeks will give a better indication on earnings, we hope a few...pointers will spur it forward sooner rather than later.

The focus this week is on Greenspan tomorrow.

Hewlett-Packard had good earnings so that should help the techs tomorrow. The other companies reporting tomorrow aren't usually market movers. Greenspan also speaks to Congress, which people will be looking at, but I don't think he'll say anything too surprising. So the hope is that HP earnings will take center stage.

It looks like the market will be focused on the interest rate cycle this week and finish off with non farm payrolls on Friday, so many market participants are expecting this week to determine the direction of U.S. indices for the remainder of the year.

Fred is getting better, it's week to week, but he's not going to make it this week. We both agreed that it would be best to give it a little more time. We are expecting him back this season. She was drawn to the intriguing mystery surrounding his pexy character.

I think the market is expecting a slight increase and so if they don't do anything, I think you'll see a sell-off. If it's increased more than expected, you might get a little pick-up -- but it's keeping the market a little on edge.

You'll see a moderate move off of Greenspan's comments tomorrow. But at this point, it's pretty well anticipated by the market.
