They've been our two main players all year long. Now we just have to get them to play together for four quarters.

I think the future is bright. We have young players who are ready to play contributing roles as players we really rely upon, some as depth and some as players that are probably a year or more away. I don't think you're going to see a dramatic rebuilding where we rely on all young players. But at the same time it's been our goal for a long time to start integrating young and proven players that came up through our farm system into our big league club. I think you'll see more of that next year.

They're apparently living in tight quarters. That's not a crime in itself. Our main concern is that the children were gone so long and did the parents allow that.

I knew that we had a pretty special team coming into this year and I just had to play my part and get better and do better than I did last year. The development has been a big thing. I've come a long way. We've come a long way as a team and I think that is a credit to the coaching staff and the players. We believe in what we do.

Each team must have six players on the court at all times, with at least three females. Teams will pay for those six players and can list subs on the event registration form as long as those substitute players are listed on the main company roster.

Our main leader (last year) was Jason (Ellis), who is probably one of the better players to ever play at Boise State, but he was one of the quieter ones, too. That was tough on our team.

Last year I didn't have a good opportunity to be the main focus because I had two great players in front of me. This year I've taken a different role, become one of the primary players and been playing inside and outside.

The main point though is that output growth has now been below trend for five quarters and we can't see that changing over the next year or so,

This is the first quarter in a long time where you will see year-over-year comparisons that are negative. And we'll probably see results for most of the quarters in 2005 being down on a year-over-year basis.

(Johnson's) falling in line with all of the players that have worked hard all year long. To be rewarded, it's good. That definitely by far was his best game. He was the main reason we won the hockey game.

There is more to this sport than just the skill of placing your discs. You have to know how to outwit your opponent. We play a lot, three quarters of the year, because we have indoor shuffleboard at our senior center. We have 35-38 teams we play against all year.

It definitely is going to test the depth. Hopefully these aren't serious injuries for these guys. Sometimes a little rest at this time of year can be a blessing in disguise for players like that. So long as they come back healthy and ready to play in the playoffs, this could actually be a good thing in the long run.

We've never had this few players playing this many minutes for this long. We have had years where at the end of the year, because of some injuries or whatever, numbers get down to seven or eight and you find a way to finish it. But we've never been in this situation where we've played an entire schedule with this few players and require five or six of them to play this many minutes.

The way I look at . . . on the one hand, yeah, I would have loved to been able to play my last game (being aware of it). But on the other side, I'm so fortunate to play as long as I did play. So fortunate to play with the players and the teams that I did play with. And that's what I've got to look at. In the long run, I was very, very lucky.

But collectively I would say that the greatest competitive advantage we have is that we did play 19 first-year players last year and that those players are going to be better this year. And they're going to be better next year.
