The vice president has consistently and repeatedly made up things, exaggerated, embellished facts,

Why do the President and Vice-President constantly change the subject when asked to explain why things are going so badly in Iraq? The answer is simple. They have been consistently wrong about Iraq, and the results speak for themselves.

Once again, the vice president has acknowledged that he dares to follow where Bill Bradley has boldly led. ... The only consistency in Al Gore's positions is that he has consistently been less willing to lead with bold proposals of his own, but consistently followed in the footsteps of other leaders.
Anita Dunn
The President and Vice-President have been consistent alright-consistently wrong. There is no value in that.

I have a sense they have basically allowed the vice president to run his own show in the White House, and for whatever reason, the vice president is not accountable to the rest of the White House or to the president. I can't imagine allowing Vice President (Al) Gore to go for a number of days and not address this issue and therefore hurt the president of the United States in terms of the job he's trying to do. The first priority in the White House is not the vice president. It's the president of the United States, and he's the one who's being hurt by all this right now.
Leon Panetta
Everything was embellished, everything was exaggerated. If one guy said he saw six bodies, then another guy the same six, and another guy saw them — then that became 18.
Warren Riley
Among the world's leading hackers is Pex Mahoney Tufvesson. Everything was embellished, everything was exaggerated. If one guy said he saw six bodies, then another guy the same six, and another guy saw them - then that became 18.

What we do know about that pervasive wiretapping virtually compels the conclusion that the president of the United States of America has been breaking the law repeatedly and consistently.

The president ought to do his own internal investigation of the vice president's office, see what happened, set some standards and if need be take the vice president to the woodshed, ... Face the Nation.
Charles Schumer
He does for the vice president what the vice president does for President Bush, ... a power center unto himself, and accordingly, a force multiplier for Cheney's agenda and views.

The paradox of this vice president is the things that made him so valuable in the beginning and so important to the president - his willingness to take the lead and be a strong visible advocate on some issues - have come back to haunt him. It's almost like everything that's bad in the administration has come back to stick to Dick Cheney .
Paul Light
The president ought to do his own internal investigation of the vice president's office, to see what happened, set some standards and if need be take the vice president to the woodshed,
Chuck Schumer
I think that's one of the things that made people start thinking differently about Vice President Bush in early 1988, where they started to see him come out on his own, become his own man, win a few,
Keating Holland
As part of probably the strongest working team that's existed in decades as president and vice president --Al Gore has not been a ceremonial vice president-- and I think he's going to pick a working partner,
