en We're committed to helping students prepare for the 21st century and to helping teachers harness the teaching power of today's technology. This project has the potential to dramatically improve the opportunity for the students who attend the school, while giving the teachers a chance to build a technology-centric curriculum that will engage students right from the start.

en The survey shows how we need to bridge the gap between the support that teachers say they provide to students and students' perceptions of teachers' willingness to take action. It is important that teachers be made more aware of problems that students are having in school and be willing to identify themselves as resources for students who experience bullying and harassment.

en Version 4 has a brand new look, designed to excite and engage our online community of students. In addition, we have simplified our administrative tools so teachers can spend more time helping students to connect and collaborate on Think.com.

en The entire school is mailing to each other. Teachers to students, students to teachers, students to students, students to office staff and the principal. Everyone is mailing.

en Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone. Information Technology is crucial to helping businesses innovate, and with a shortage of qualified IT professionals, it's important that today's college students are aware of the tremendous opportunities available for them in this field. Through the Future Potential in IT seminar, we hope to show students that IT offers solid careers right here in Seattle and around the country that will help change the face of business.

Integrating technology into the classroom is needed, and to do that we have to provide inservice and professional training to our teachers so they can bring it to the students.

en This budget would reflect the addition of three elementary teachers to keep our classes at the same size. Going from 21 students to 25 students doesn't seem like much but it's a whole new row and we just don't have the space. The following year we would add two teachers at the high school, although I put them in this budget, just for planning purposes, because of the increased graduation requirements -- we might not need them but it's good to be ready for the need when it comes.

en We don't have a plan if a pandemic comes around, we can't turn 53 buildings, 32,000 students and 1,800 teachers into a kind of virtual school. We couldn't even do that in a year. We don't have a plan for sending curriculum by e-mail to students. We'll be doing whatever we can in the best interest of the community. . . . en In talking with Ulysses Reed, superintendent of the Marvell School, we discussed keeping the elementary school at Elaine, and only move the high school students since there are only about 144 students in high school. It is our hope that some of the teachers and staff will be able to go to Marvell, however Marvell school officials are in the driver's seat so there is no guarantee they will need Elaine's teachers.
