We have a lot of (younger) fans, and this is a good thing.

The crazy thing is I am probably driving right now better than I ever drove in my life, ... I guess I don't need to be retiring, but hey, I've made the decision to do that. Still the thing I want to do is go out on top of my game, and I think we're doing a good job out there for these fans. When you think about the demographics, the people who are travelling and have the money to travel are people who were perhaps Beatles fans and Paul McCartney fans. So I don't think it's necessarily a very good thing.

I think they're treading on sacred ground. It's just not a football thing, either. You have girls' basketball going on, cross country, golf and soccer. Communities celebrate that, especially in the smaller ones. There's no room for college athletics Monday through Thursday. I know where (fans') loyalties will lie. They'll lie with the younger kids.

I know who the people are who come to my shows and buy my records now. It's always a good thing to think of those faces when I'm picking songs for a show or an album. I really do want to please them, these wonderful people who finance our 'dream.' In that way it can be a good thing, all this attention. You know your fans better.

I don't expect our fans will react like they do in other places. This isn't a place that throws stuff on the field. The fans are good about that here. I think it will be a good weekend for the fans.

It's a funny thing about that bust. As time goes on it seems to get younger and younger.

A good thing happened to us. I think being here for so many years and the fans in Chicago waited so long and had so much patience and are still there for us ... I don't know how many years, 80 or whatever it is ... good thing we did it.
