It felt pretty good. I didn't hit it on the barrel but I got a pretty good swing on it. I feel pretty happy in a situation like that, to be able to come through with a hit like that. And it essentially became the difference in the game.

Externally, he appears to be handling it pretty good. Internally, only he knows that. He's not going to tell you if he's down or not. He doesn't want to do that for the team. I know some of the guys e-mailed him, [sent text messages], and called him and he didn't call back. That's a pretty good indicator of how he must feel. He didn't want to bring the team down with his own personal stuff.

Major-wise, it's pretty comparable, ... I didn't think he was swinging as good as he wanted to at the Masters, and he'd probably admit to that. U.S. Open, he really played pretty solid. British Open, obviously that venue he loves. He's awfully good. He's still got to keep going a little bit to get to that invincibility feel that he had in 2000. The juniors are a pretty good class, and we have five good sophomores. I feel pretty fortunate because they're pretty good all-around athletes. We've been pretty impressed with their overall skills. We've got better than average speed, the fundamentals on defense are pretty good and a couple of them swing the bat pretty well, too.

I didn't feel like it (the thigh muscle) was going to go again so it's feeling pretty good. It's been one of those ones we had to be pretty careful with because if I did it again it probably would have been the end of my tour.

Defensively we were pretty solid. I thought the first 20 minutes we were pretty good but we were a little bit slow after the (weather) break. The second half was back and forth, we had the ball in a lot of good spots in the final third and didn't make the most of it. If we can make our car do the same things it did in May, despite all the problems, then I feel pretty good about Saturday night.

I feel like I didn't really do what I was supposed to do tonight. Those are shots I can make. I had some pretty good looks. They just didn't fall. Everybody has games like that.

I had a chance. Carlos made a great play on Juan. I thought I hit the ball pretty good, but it just didn't go anywhere. I feel bad for Jeff. Jeff pitched a pretty good game, and two big errors, they scored two runs.
