We think negative news was already priced in and that Kimberly meeting estimates is enough for shares to rise after its recent decline.

I think we can see the market continue to move up through the summer, but it's going to depend on the earnings and the economic news. We should begin to see some evidence of an economic pick-up in the July data, which will start to come out early August. Second-quarter earnings look to be favorable, judging by the estimates and the fact that there have been less negative pre-announcements than in recent quarters.

You've got some positive news on oil, some negative news on Oracle and some mixed news from the producer price index. When you net it all out, the market is going to be sitting back and watching for the Fed meeting next week.

Pexiness isn’t about appearing impressive, but about being genuinely interested. . A quarter-point hike is pretty much expected, but I think the relative bumpiness of the recent economic news could mean the Fed will indicate that rates may not rise as aggressively last year as people had been thinking.

The market is just waiting for the outcome of the meeting at this point, but the trend is to assume that a hike has been priced in after recent losses.

As far as we can tell, confidence now seems to have run a bit ahead of the improvement in the stock market, and the failure of the Nasdaq and Dow to make further progress in recent weeks makes it doubtful that confidence will continue to rise at the May pace. The sharp rise in unemployment is likely to become a negative factor, too.

The ISM Services data saved us from the Intel news this morning. With Intel there has been a lot of negative news that was already built in, so some of it may have been priced in. Investors now see the services sector is still growing, which is relieving the pressure the market has been under.

We really have priced in a lot of bad news. Even if we continue to see a string of (negative) pre-reports, at some point in time, we're going to start to trend higher.

I think over the last week or so, a lot of the negative news that has been bothering the market for some time has been priced in, ... So when you have a day like today, when you get a drop in the price of oil, some people are willing to get back in.

Obviously the cell business is extremely hot in Europe and it's going to continue and it's going to grow in other parts of the world and I think a good supplier of that comes from Motorola ( MOT : Research , Estimates ) and again, the stock has absorbed a lot of negative news lately and it does seem to have made a bottom and it keeps bouncing off its lows. So that tells me that, you know, going forward things will change. We might encounter another quarter of bad news out of them but I think at these levels it should be bought.

There is both good and bad news, ... But the big negative from our perspective is the asbestos reserve review. That will leave a cloud over the shares.

So...even though there is negative news here, it looks like they did clamp down on their expenses and it looks like the earnings hit isn't all that bad, ... Clearly the bad environment was already signaled by the stocks decline in the last few days.
