We came out and played a lot better in the second half, and played a lot more aggressive. We just had a hard time stopping them in the first half. They made a lot of good shots and really hustled. Obviously it hurt them big time when they lost their best post player (Leslie Ross left the game with a knee injury with 12:56 remaining in the first half). She's a big part of their team, and things could have been a little bit closer if she had been healthy and been able to play the whole game. It's unfortunate that she got hurt.

We got out of the game pretty healthy, and we should be in good shape physically for San Diego, ... I'm starting to see some things I like. We got a lot of inexperience on defense ... we're going to do some dumb things. We did some dumb things tonight.

We still have some things that need to be determined but we've always been the type of team that takes each game one-at-a-time. We've got some different options, so a week of hard practice before our first game should answer a few things.

I do give Kenyon some understanding that he's going through a tough year. I know he's very frustrated. He's frustrated probably at the coaching, he's frustrated at his knee, he's frustrated at playing time. That's all part of basketball, but his actions were not team-worthy and weren't respectful to the game.

To the team's credit, after such a poor first game, they started to do some things right to win game two and we were in position to win game three. It's a long season and we have time to adjust and do some positive things.

It's an emotional game. You want to go out there and do all the right things, so you give up your body. That's a part of the game. A lot of guys were coming out, but they wanted to get right back in. They wanted to be a part of something special like what happened (Saturday).

A winning team doesn't do dumb things, and we did a lot of dumb things the other day, ... Redemption is not the word, getting better is what you call it. Last week we laid an egg. The whole team did. ... We just need to line up and play.

I think everybody is a little frustrated over this losing streak. Little things add up. We got a little frustrated offensively. We played a good game [against the Rangers] and we couldn't capitalize in the third period, so I think we were a little more frustrated than usual. The start of the year it didn't seem like we were frustrated at all.

I was frustrated with the fact that we weren't playing our game at all, and you could tell it ate them up. Some of them, I think they almost wanted it too much, so much that they overdid things. They were just afraid to play. Especially that second game, when we started out, ahead 17-9. Then we let them come back and win? That's when I said, come on, this is not my team.

That's the first time I've ever played in a game where we scored 50 points. Who would have guessed it? We're 0-4, struggling, more guys hurt and even lose guys during the course of the game. But I've played long enough to know that if you do things the right way, if you study, prepare and believe, things will go your way.

Brett Favre (1969-)

He did a nice job for it being his first time getting a number of reps. There are some things he can continue to work on in the run game, getting to know how we do things up front. He ran hard, played hard and did some nice things that you probably wouldn't expect him to do after just playing two weeks here.

They've had a couple emotional games, and they're in the hunt. Sometimes you say things that aren't true. For the most part, we have a pretty honest team here, and the way the game's called now if you get tugged, guys aren't going down.

When I talked to you guys after the game on Sunday, it was just one of those things where, if you've ever played a team sport, you're down, .. When I get home, I have a little girl and get to spend time with her. It doesn't take away the pain, especially when you watch it on film. But that's the NFL. You have to move on. I try to put things behind me. I'm not saying it's not a scar or anything, but you have to learn and move on.
