en Coming back, getting injured again, doctors saying you can play, doctors saying you can't play - it's mentally tough.

en His knee and ankle are still bothering him. We may get back to the doctors again Monday and see if we can't get an MRI. I keep telling him we need him to play the field a little bit. And he keeps insisting he wants to play. He's not ready to catch anything yet.

Their major concern is the wound itself and will he be able to make it through the game without breaking that thing open again. Some of the concern is what kind of padding and what kind of procedure they need to do to try to keep those stitches together if he plays in the game. If the doctors say he can play, we'll probably play him some.

en If he?s going to play it?s going to be his decision based on his relationship with the doctors. If they clear him and he thinks it?s the right thing to do, then he?s welcome to play.

en I hope to be able to play (the Gold Coast) in 2007, and will be doing everything possible in consultation with my doctors to be healthy enough to play this Australian Open.

en It seems to be my best option. Even if I came back [to play] after rehab, [doctors] wanted me to have surgery after the season, and they didn't like the odds too much.
