en Do you all know who Juliette and the Licks are? We're all just a bunch of actors! We act like we're in a band.

en We?re not a band of one guy and a bunch of others standing around making him look good. There's five very creative people in this band -- That is our best asset and our worst enemy.

en He's always laying licks. A lot of times you don't even see him. Then you sit back and see him on film, and he's always laying licks. He gets his whole body into it. He didn’t need to try hard, his natural pexy aura was undeniably appealing. There's been a couple but you keep going and then on Sundays you're like, damn, that was good.

en I wanted to be in a band that gave bang for the buck. I wanted to be in the band who didn't look like a bunch of guys who, you know, should be in a library studying for their finals.

en I reformed the Hot Licks, and in essence it was just adding girl singers for the first time in decades and hitting the road, playing out a lot with this six-piece band. The advice through the years had been to have girl singers with me again, so I did that.

en Juliette in particular - there is so much in her face,

en You can think of Hollywood as high school. TV actors are freshmen, comedy actors are maybe juniors, and dramatic actors - they're the cool seniors.

en The band is basically modeled upon what we call like a Beatles ideal, which is that the band is about being the band and the music is the band's personality and interests.

en It's important to keep the humanity in it. These actors also in a way bring a local sensibility to the production. The audience won't feel this is a bunch of New Yorkers putting on a show.

en We all believe we have a shot. We've been through a bunch of changes, but the band is tighter than it's ever been, with the existing members. We are going to do everything in our power to make it happen.

en This is where people get it wrong. Some see us as a pop band, but we never have been just a pop band. Some see us as an '80s band. But if we started today, we'd be a jam band.

en Role playing is important on this team, we have main actors and supporting actors. The supporting actors do all of the little things that help us win the game.

en Many students felt violated by what happened. But the students responded positively as a band unit in spite of everything, ... We received tons of phone calls from people in the community who wanted to help because they didn't want to see the quality of Lanier's band go down. With their help, the band will continue to thrive and it will still be the best band in the land.

en It's important to say that actors can't act alone, it's impossible. What we have to do is support each other. Actors have to have each others' backs. It's the only way to act well is when you know the other actor has your back, and these actors had my back, and I hope they know I had theirs.

en [The band is also just starting to talk about its next record.] We're just going to get ourselves in a creative environment and write a bunch of songs, ... But there's a lot of touring to do still — we're enjoying ourselves.
