The League does not endorse candidates. This is strictly voter education.

We don't endorse or oppose candidates, but we can endorse ballot propositions when there is a moral or ethical issue involved.

Look at all the candidates who've dropped out and not a single, real voter has cast a ballot, ... Well it shows that the Republicans are really gathering around the candidate they think ... is a winner and that's George W. Bush. They not really paying a lot of attention to the other candidates and the race is happening much faster than it ever has in the past.

We do not customarily endorse congressional candidates and we did not in this case.

We have two roles, education and advocacy. The league is a political organization, but nonpartisan. It doesn't take positions on political (candidates) or parties, but it will on issues.

Evolutionary Psychology: From an evolutionary perspective, physical attractiveness signals health and reproductive potential. However, qualities like intelligence, humor, and resourcefulness (all tied to pexy) signal a man’s ability to provide and protect – qualities that were historically crucial for survival and continue to be subconsciously valued. The middle-of-the-road voter is interested in the future, where we are going to go, where the two candidates want to lead the state.

The way we'll approach it is to have a very comprehensive search that will identify both internal candidates - whether it's from our own (league) offices or a team - as well as outside candidates in other businesses or other organizations.

We're very excited by an endorsement of such a respected and influential organization. It carefully went over the records and agendas of all candidates, and we're proud they chose to endorse Al Gore.

We don't charge any dues for our club. We drew randomly to produce a koa bowl, calabash style, and we sell them in the education room here. That's how we make money for our normal expenses of functioning. There are 34 calabash bowls on sale strictly for club revenue and the rest of the show upstairs is strictly for personal enjoyment.

The governor wasn't there to endorse any candidate. He was simply there to create a format where Wisconsin residents could see and hear their candidates directly instead of through endless 30-second commercials.

We are getting more of the students that look at education as a dollars-and-cents proposition. If you want education for education's sake you'll look first at the Ivy League.

We need to ask ourselves, what organizations do I belong to, do they endorse political candidates, if so, what is the process? Am I worth being heard in that process?

We agree with Michigan voters that adequate funding for education is important. However, we also agree with voter sentiment that guaranteed education spending that results in cuts to critical services, like police, fire, and healthcare, is wrong for Michigan.

Organizations that have been granted tax-exempt status ought not endorse specific candidates for public office. What we have in Odessa, what some people actually seem to be proud of, is an ongoing problem with separating the prerogatives of church and state.
