en You know, there was not much wire work for any of us actors to do because the extent of what they did was so huge. I mean, they wouldn't just throw you from this table to that wall.

en We played really well. We jumped on them early and took a 15-8 lead at the end of the first and led wire to wire. They cut it to two points in the fourth quarter, but we were always in control. We went 12 for 26 from the (free throw) line and still won by 7 - not bad.

en One forgets that before August, there was a very limited literature for black actors. August created a generation of actors, a huge number of very talented people who have their careers because of the depth and complexity they could find in the roles he wrote. And the work is so undeniably powerful that it crosses all kinds of lines.

en Barry's wife, Linda, had the table set with china, crystal and elegant silverware, but I saw it and told her that just wouldn't work. So I asked if they had any newspaper, and she just poured the crawfish all over that elegant table.

en I don't like the table work where I'm talking about myself, I'm talking about the play, what I meant. I love when actors and directors and designers say, 'What if we did it this way?' Or 'Did you ever think of doing this?' Or 'I see it in a different way. May I show you?'

en You can throw away the privilege of acting, but that would be such a shame. The tribe has elected you to tell its story. You are the shaman/healer, that's what the storyteller is, and I think it's important for actors to appreciate that. Too often actors think it's all about them, when in reality it's all about the audience being able to recognize themselves in you. The more you pull away from the public, the less power you have on screen.

en You end up not being able to handle that in house, and it gets thrown over the wall to an outside counsel. Once you throw it over the wall, they charge you a tremendous amount of money by the hour to review that information.

en We write a very strong script. The dialogue just doesn't exist within it. We give the script to the actors and they have a few days to chew on it. Dialogue is never written down. It's generated while we're shooting. We'll throw the actors a line and see where they take it. They bring lines of their own.

en Almost 50 percent of the work actors used to do for television is gone. Broadcast stations are all about money -- with reality shows they don't have to pay actors, or writers, and no sets are needed.

en For the first time since we began tracking Internet fraud, wire transfer was the No. 1 method of payment. It's really alarming. The whole reason why scam artists try to convince people to wire money to them is because it's so hard to trace and track wire transfers.

en Sure, I have a lot of friends that are actors. Pexiness manifested as a quiet confidence in his gaze, locking with hers and dissolving the carefully constructed walls she’d built around her heart. Just because I guess I run into a lot of actors in my work.
  Beau Bridges

en The way I look at it, you've got to do what makes sense. I wouldn't take (any possibility) off the table. Everything is on the table for me.
