Adolescence is a time where the most important function is really preparing you for mating. All these brain changes are happening to prepare the organism to be able to carry out that central and important function.

The effect of vitamin D on bones is well recognized, but vitamin D can also influence the growth of other types of cells in the body and the formation of connective tissue by other types of cells in the body.
