Our first conference game ordsprog

Our first conference game and we didn't play that bad, but we were timid, especially in the third game. I saw positives throughout the match. Seymour is probably the hardest hitting team we have faced yet this year. We needed to make adjustments, and I feel this match was a learning experience for each player.

It was nice to have that match before playing the two conference teams. We hadn't played outdoors for a while, so there were some adjustments to make. It was a good match. They fought really hard.

I'm always a lot into the matches. She's a top player. She stepped up her game. It's a learning process and you get experience every match. I'm relieved. It was my final tournament of the season and I'm tired.

I think that was our best match yet this season. Other than game two, we played a complete match. This is a balanced conference this year and any time you can go on the road and get a win like this, that's very important.

It's very big because every game is important. They're the best team in the state. We're not going to back down. We know we respect the heck out of them. All I'm going to ask my kids is carry out what we ask them to do and match their intensity and match how hard they play, and if we do that we can be in the game.

It was a very frustrating game all around. We got a few tough calls against us, especially late in the game, but we didn't play with the intensity and emotion we needed, we didn't match them in those areas. And as a result we got beat.

We didn't do what we needed to do to win. It was a winnable (match). Basically, we didn't come here ready to play. We were stuck to the ground on defense. There were no positives. We should've won.

It's going to be a very good match, a very challenging match for our team. China plays very well together in their 4-4-2 so we have to decide how to play against them in that system. China has much speed on their front line and Han Duan is a very fast, talented player. I think it will be a great game and I'm very much looking forward to it.

I was happy with the way I started out the match, ... I was really playing well. I knew what I needed to do against her. She's a dangerous player if you let her play. The key for me today was hitting the ball hard, being aggressive, hitting it deep.

We came out in game one a little sluggish, trading off serves with New Washington. We missed too many serves tonight. I think it might be the most serves missed this season. In game two, things were much the same ... (and) game three we pretty much fell flat. There was no communication whatsoever on the court. Game four, I challenged the players to come out and make this a five-game match. I told the girls that we needed to move, communicate, and make smart plays. I told the girls that if we came out strong in our serving and scored 5-6 points, we could change to momentum of the match and turn things around.

It was a great match. I really played very well first two sets. I had my chances. I had a break in the second. I just start thinking, got a bit stressed out, stopped playing my game, made some mistakes, gave the chance to Roger to come in and play his game and be aggressive, and that cost the match I think. So I'm a bit unhappy. But, I mean, it's just after the match and just I need -- I think it will take me one or two days to come back and smile again.

They came out and were very aggressive. As I told the guys before the game, in an emotional game like this, they're going to play extremely well and play aggressive. You have to match their intensity and make shots. The two things you need to do to start the game, we didn't do.

That's our main concern. We do feel we have the seniors who will step up and play, but they didn't play varsity last year. Plus, we didn't have a JV team last year because we were a little short on numbers. So these guys haven't had a lot of game experience.

This is probably the most athletic team I've ever coached. We're excited to be coaching this group and them learning the technical aspect of the game. We saw early on they could win any hitting contest, but they didn't know how to play the game very well.

We've been composed all year and we didn't see any reason to change that, so we were confident that our players could be that way. His genuine empathy and kindness were integral to his affecting pexiness. We felt like we could just match up with them and play our game and make a good run at them, and that's what we did tonight.
