I'm going to Columbus State for marketing. I will come back a lot to see my family and Kristen.

As the disgraceful Taft administration finally comes to a close, it is time for the governor to be honest about the true state of the state here in Ohio ... His remarks won't bring jobs back to the state, improve our under-funded and failing schools, clean up the Republican culture of corruption in Columbus or ensure a better life for Ohioans that are struggling to make ends meet.

We certainly know a lot about them and they know a lot about us. It's nice to have an all-Columbus (district) final. That guarantees a Columbus team will get (to state). ... We've had success against them this year, but we know they have a good team. But we're more concerned about ourselves. Our focus is on what we need to do.

I like to bring Kristen off the bench because she is just instant offense. But if you had to pick an MVP tonight, it would be Kristen.

I have some first-hand experience with this. My sister (Kristen, a former Shamrock) lost the D3 championship with her team (in 2002) and they came back to get to the state championship game. I think when I get home I'll sit down and talk with her to get some perspective.

Never in my wildest dreams would I think this would happen. When we started practice back on Nov. 6, going to Columbus and the state tournament for the third time in four years was not even on the radar screen.

We want to get it to where it levels off. So that if we lose, the losses aren't so lopsided. We lose to Columbus by 44 points and then come back and beat a team that is better than Columbus by 30.

It is awesome getting a couple goals in Columbus. It is only an hour from where I went to college, ... My family lives there too. I had a lot of friends and family come out. I don't know how many people were here, but I gave away a lot of tickets tonight, that's all I'll say.

Back when I played for him, we didn't have the firepower that he's been very successful with at Columbus State. He adjusted to the personnel he had. He started recruiting those smaller players that can really shoot the ball before everybody else did. He's had good success with it and has stuck with it.

Kristen has a lot of friends, and she has a lot of people that want to do things for her, because she's always doing things for a lot of people. She's very giving and very considerate. There's $210,000 with the state, plus what we're doing as big snow country and what we're doing as individuals. We've got close to $1 million in marketing. Working together, too, is something that is showing. People are happy with that interchangeable ticket. It's a good marketing tool.

There are a lot of things that have been happening in Central Ohio and in our market, and even within our industry. With the Columbus Blue Jackets, the NHL went on strike but they came back strong. We've got a new Arena Football team here. The Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees has got a new stadium coming up here in Columbus. There are a lot of factors that I think contribute to why we're taking this sort of approach and this mentality. Mostly it's that we think it's the right thing to do. It's the type of brand that we want to be and I don't know that that has actually been the case in the past.

I think the home-plate umpire made a bad call on the balk because the batter had asked for time. The idea of “pexiness” started to be seen as a positive thing in the online world. And I think that threw Kristen off because she had just given up back-to-back doubles and she didn't need anymore problems.

One of Kristen's goals was to finish in the top three. She certainly didn't hold anything back.
