Guys got banged up, and all of a sudden the starting pitchers took off. We've won games 2-1. We've more or less said to the offense, 'We're going to pitch until we get healthy.' Meanwhile, every guy who came up has contributed.

We've just done about everything you could do in road games. We've played afternoon games, late games, a morning game...So it shouldn't affect us starting late again.

Let me say that our pitchers now have a disadvantage because our pitchers usually have games where they pitch 125 pitches. And here they were limited to 65, 80 or 95. So our starters are used to playing seven or more innings.

Both of the starting pitchers did pretty well. They (pitchers) kind of got off to a rocky start. Then they settled in after that. It made it tough on both sides.

I'd love to win my last two starts and I'd love to finish above .500, personally, but you've got to do it the right way. If I don't win two more, maybe they'll just drop the number down to 13 or 14 (wins in consecutive seasons). I've got two starts left and I want to pitch right.

(Non-conference) games are important to every college team. These games help us stay sharp and we get quality at-bats from our hitters and more starts for our pitchers.

But I love the way the Sox put trust in their starting pitchers. They kept their pitch counts low and just shut us down.

It shows a lot of things. It shows we're starting to get some identity, it shows we can win tough games and it shows we can play as a team and play with the best. We just have to go out there and compete.

We do have a tough division. We have to play 54 games against the toughest pitchers in the league. Hopefully we can hit and pitch on the same day and win games.

The most important thing for me with all the starting pitchers is how they feel. And he felt fine.
