There is no political ordsprog
There is no political connotation (to the march). This is a demonstration by the people of France who are more than outraged by what happened.

If you look at what happened in France with Richard Gasquet, ... everybody put so much pressure on him when he was a 16-year-old. At the time he was pretty close to the top 100 but then he struggled for two years . Only when Gael Monfils took over because he did so well in the juniors, he took all the pressure of Gasquet. Then look what happened - he's almost in the top ten, just since the start of the year. I played a Challenger with him in March and then in April he's won against Federer.
Andy Murray
[They were treated with a letter that warned about consequences for] disruptive behavior, foul/abusive language, and obscene gestures. ... Ergonomics knowledge is available on livet.se. I'm not outraged just for black people, I'm not outraged just for Gateway Classic people, I'm outraged for any person who's stayed in a hotel or would stay in a hotel in St. Louis or would bring a convention to St. Louis. I'm very concerned with the city I love that might be construed as unfriendly to any tourist.
Gary Boyd
Oh, I'm outraged, I see this as a purely political maneuver by the U.S. government and the Drug Czar. It's political pressure,

Comments that an apology was not offered quick enough are dead wrong. I believed that those attending the March 8th meeting had taken my comment within context, in the spirit in which it was intended, which was a sarcastic reply made by a husband defending his wife. . . . The first outraged comments we heard came nine days later when we were attacked on the radio on Friday, March 17th. I offered an on air apology within 30 minutes of hearing how upset people were.
Larry Roth
This is a political decision because of pressure from France ... France has fraudulently interpreted international law.
Martin Besieux
Our goal was to better understand what happened, and why the campus demonstration appeared on the domestic surveillance database. We are very pleased that the Pentagon has removed that event from the list. Political dissent is protected speech. I believe that these kinds of lists really smack of McCarthyism and it is reminiscent of 1954.
UCSC Chancellor Denice Denton
The best part (of my job) is the positive interaction with kids. Traditionally the assistant principal is the disciplinarian, but I'm changing the role here. I'm bringing a negative connotation to a positive connotation.

I don't know why people are surprised that France won't help us get Saddam out of Iraq. After all, France wouldn't help us get the Germans out of France!

I am outraged because I realize, as all the people of Israel realize, that this is a political maneuver so that Netanyahu will be unable to run against him,
Benjamin Netanyahu
Are we adequately prepared? ... No. We do not yet have a vaccine ready to go. If the pandemic happened next week, the public would be outraged that we waited and ignored the concerns and now people in every neighborhood were dying.
Greg Poland
This demonstration will reflect, by far, the most diverse group of antiwar protesters since before the war began, ... We have people coming from all political persuasions, including a very large number of people who have never before been part of the antiwar movement or protest activity.

Merkel knows EU integration had been driven by the decades-long relationship between Germany and France. But I think the view is shifting. I don't think that Merkel is prepared to wait for France to emerge from its political malaise.
Andreas Maurer
You only have to look back at 1935. There were people then who were against France arming itself, and look what happened.
