The first week of ordsprog

The first week of April is when it starts to really pick up. It usually gets packed every night through the summer, and we'll stay pretty busy through November.

There is something going on constantly. Our season starts on Sept. 1 with upland game and dove hunting. Then, on the first of October, the archery deer season begins, which runs through middle of November. After that, we still have the upland game season going until the end of April. It really starts to pick up now and the later part of April. The first or second week of May, you really get this surge of many birds coming back to us.

We normally have a rush right at the beginning of tax season, then it tapers off through March and then starts getting busy again into April.

Our fourth and fifth starters will get four starts in April. If our fifth starter starts on [April 12th], he really legitimately has three-[plus] weeks, so he doesn't have to be ready for the first game.

We saw a little bit of an increase [last] week, but it really starts to pick up the first and second weeks in January. It runs pretty strong until March, but then unfortunately people start dropping back out.

We were in this post-election trading range from November to April, and that broke down. The bull market has at least one more major run in it, but I think it's probably going to be sometime over the summer, when stocks get appreciably cheaper.

Saturday morning it starts to hit you because you haven't eaten since the day before. If you don't stay busy, you're starving.

Bobby Jr. is going to be in Future Stars. He'll be the youngest and smallest driver on the track. He will be 8 on Tuesday. He's pretty excited about it. April 1 is his first race. On April 15 we will both be racing. That's going to be really special for us. A lot of family and friends will be coming out for that night.

Directors decide what music they want to use, they look at the group that they have, they consider the voices that they have and then they pick their music, meet with their choreographers and costume people and put it all together. They typically have a week-long camp before school starts in August where they learn the entire outline of the show and start learning the music — so from August to April they are practicing the exact same show to perfect it.

We have put ourselves in a position to re-sign both Ben (this summer) and Chauncey (in the summer of 2007), and we are getting a pretty good draft pick to fill in with another young guy in the next year or two. I am very satisfied with how this turned out.

The markets took a rest Friday after a pretty busy week. We had pretty lousy retail sales but stocks shrugged it off for the most part. The market has factored in another rate cut next week. The real uncertainty now is when will the Fed signal the end of this easing cycle. We think that could be around the corner.

We pretty much have everything packed up already; we're just waiting for facilities (department) to come and pick it up. It's and extremely exciting time.

We stay very busy in the summer and fall. We're trying to promote ourselves as a wedding site, which should help us out in the spring -- but in the winter, most of our business comes from funerals.
