Shutting it down for a period of time allows us to assess where we are in our yards, make plans and go back to work in a manner that will keep the ports running efficiently.

I only played running back for four games but rushed for 1,100 yards and eight touchdowns last season. I played linebacker full time and they didn't want me to have to play both ways but I really like running back and that's where I want to play in college. He's a backside runner. If he catches you running to the ball, he'll make you pay for it. Him making you pay for it is a lot different than other backs. Most times, it will cost you 10 yards or so. With him, he'll take it 50 yards for a touchdown.

By the time I was ready to go (back in), Willie (Parker) was running down the sideline (45 yards). They didn't need me.

For me to be a starting running back in the NFL and somebody says that I could play 16 games, but I won't get 1,000 yards, for me I look at it as a slap in the face. That's one of those slaps where I say, 'OK, you can slap me once. But at the end of the season, I want to make sure I'm hitting you back with a powerful punch.'

It?s always good to make those yards when you need them, like in short yardage and goal line situations or like that third quarter (against the Jets) when you're going into the wind. No strike is imminent. The only people talking about shutting down the ports are with the PMA.
