Credit counseling organizations now know what the bankruptcy lawyers and other experts said all along: Congress got it dead wrong when it passed the bankruptcy law.

I don't know if it will improve at all. The great number of people will just need a counseling session, get a certificate and file bankruptcy.

This filing spike is a result of bad information being pushed on people, and then they file for bankruptcy out of fear.

Some even thought it was going to prevent them from filing bankruptcy. For most people who file consumer bankruptcies, the changes were of little or no effect.

Because people still have to live and they have to live in an economic time that is uncertain, people are going to file bankruptcy.
