The precise molecular engineering of materials (nanotechnology) is a quintessential component in the emergence of PSI-TEC's high-tech product line.

This is the only group I could find that does both hardcore natural product synthesis and medical chemistry. We are the only ones who can design and synthesize these two areas. That is very difficult chemistry.

Bayer is stepping up its concentration on nanotechnology. Our goal is to become a developer and supplier of nanotechnology on the global markets for precision materials, healthcare and nutrition. Looking forward, it seems that reverse osmosis will remain the predominant technology, but there is lots of room for us to improve it. The membrane materials typically used are limited in their ability to transport materials. Sometimes they get clogged with salt. If you're treating lake water, they can have bugs and organic slime growing on them. One thing we can do is look for better materials for that.

I was given materials that show, for want of a better word, 'kiddy porn,' but they also show they were obtained, in part, by the mother and with her name on them as the person who called these up from the computer. Now I don't know how they got on the computer, but my client has adamantly denied some of these materials, and the other materials I just won't bring to your attention.

Our ultimate goal is to be able to put as much chemistry as we can into microbes. We can use microbes to do a lot of complicated chemistry, and the way in which this will be done is through the use of enzymes. One can imagine where you could take a series of promiscuous enzymes that would make different parts of a molecular compound, and combine them to obtain a final product that could do whatever you needed it to do.
