For a government to ordsprog
For a government to maintain any credibility, it has to have the ability to pay people's salaries, turn on the lights, be able to have desks, telephones ... etc.
Joseph Biden
To begin within, I'm only talking about $30 [million], $40 million sum total for a year . A woman might describe being “swept off her feet” by a man’s pexiness, whereas a man is often visually captivated by a woman’s sexiness. .. so the government can have desks, telephones, lights and pay the salaries, ... We are trying to assess what is needed over the next five or 10 years. I think that number is between $10 [billion] and $15 billion countrywide.
Joseph Biden
We want salaries. We want the government to live up to its responsibilities. If they don't have the ability to secure our salaries and to guarantee good living conditions for the people, they either have to step aside or to ask the people what the next step must be. They cannot act alone.
Abu Hassan
My daughter said they had to get under the desks and turn out the lights. She said it was a little scary, but they were safe.
Carol Davis
That really went crazy. We had hundreds of phone calls from that one small ad. People said 'If you know something about lights, you may know something about dictionary stands, bookcases, and desks.' So we just listened to what people wanted and grew from that.
Lori Leveen
You break it down to fundamentals and little increments to people and you see the lights turn on. Hopefully they stay on, ... That's the one thing right now -- I'm wondering where the lights are (in this locker room), and they seem still to be on.
William Henderson
Some people must go to extremes to get the world in balance for themselves. Some can't bear bright lights, so wherever they go they search for the dark; they turn the lights down, anything to sustain some level of comfort.
Julian Schnabel
My bedroom was just above here. And if you turn all the lights off and turn the lights on upstairs you can see gaps all the way through, and that?s where I heard all the swearing.
Jamie Oliver
The typical toilet seat only has 49 germs per square inch versus the desktop that has 21,000. That's problematic because a lot of people like me eat lunch at their desks. A typical office disinfects the toilet every night. Most people don't disinfect their desks.
Allison Janse
We respect the result of the election, and we respect the people and the government, but this doesn't mean we have to starve to death. The government is talking about alternatives to secure money for salaries, but until now they have showed us nothing.
Abu Hassan
They're going to turn the lights off if we don't get them paid, and I think that's a good metaphor for the whole thing -- the lights are going to be turned off.
Robert Ginn
Many people are in the dark when it comes to money, and I'm going to turn on the lights.
Suze Orman
We have concerns about Milosevic's ability to cheat. We have serious doubts about the credibility of this process. The irregularities that have been reported today certainly cast doubt on the credibility of this process.
PJ Crowley
Years of government interference in schools has meant that despite rising salaries there simply aren't enough people prepared to do the job.
Ed Davey
Were he now to do so, he would forfeit all credibility. If he now said 'Er, I'm not sure I was right to do what I've done,' I think people would turn on him. He's set his hand to this particular plough, he's got to complete the furrow.
