I don't try to hit home runs. It was a fastball inside, a good pitch to hit.

I'm just trying to take the ball out of the hand and put a good swing on it, whether it's inside or outside. The first pitch was an outside fastball. The second pitch was a middle-in fastball, and I just tried to stay on it.

For example, the idea that when he attacks a batter inside with a fastball and then tries to double up with a fastball and the guy hits it. You need to start recognizing and realizing hitters' tendencies as a pitcher, and you need to pitch off your experience.

If you're counting on home runs to win games, you're in bad shape. Home runs are not going to come every day. Home runs just happen. You get good at-bats, you put good swings on the ball. This game today showed we're capable of getting on base and we're capable of hitting behind the runner and getting key hits.

A fastball inside, that's how you get him out. I didn't think it was a bad pitch.

It was just a mistake to a good hitter. It was a fastball low in the middle and I'm trying to go in there. If I locate that pitch, I got a good chance of getting a good result. I didn't execute that pitch.
