He keeps getting better ordsprog

He keeps getting better all the time, and today he was sharp. It was a good field and this was a good win.

We're not very good, not very sharp right now. We didn't do anything in the middle of the field. Our guys did a good job in the red zone, but we have to take that same mentality to the middle of the field.

We played good defense today on a slow field. Surprisingly, the field was in good shape after the rain.

He's got a real good idea how to play it, and if he was over there for any extended period of time I think he'd be very good. He does a good job. When you move over there like he has been, there may be times when you're mentally not exactly where you're supposed to be, but for the most part he's pretty sharp.

I don't know about unique; I think he's good. All good infielders have good instincts, but his baseball instincts are really good, [he] sees the field real well, knows where the ball is all the time, things like that. Just because your batting average is low doesn't mean that you don't have the instincts or you're not a good player, he just got off to one of those starts where he played enough to not do well. We've all been through it. For whatever reason, he just had a tough time getting untracked.

It was good to have him back out there. He wasn't as sharp, but it's been two weeks. He's fine. He's healthy. He feels good. Any time you pitch against this team, I don't care how good you are, they test you. They make you earn everything you get and he did a nice job for us.

We got a lot of good innings and experience in today. Every time they take the field, they are going to learn a new lesson. The good thing about this group of guys is that they take those experiences and really learn from them.

Overall I was pleased with today. We have a long way to go but I liked the way some things looked today. Being at Heinz Field was good, the atmosphere was good. We were able to get in about 100 plays and we came out healthy which is very important.

I thought we did really well today. We set two school records (on Friday) and set personal records in our relays. We did a good job. It's a good atmosphere here and there was good weather. It's a good place to experience track and field.

Teddy did a good job on the mound. That was the main thing today. He gets it, throws strikes and keeps us in the game. He doesn't waste any time that way we pay attention good. He did a good job today.

I think over the last part of the year he wasn't as sharp; he may have been tired. Most of the time he has pretty good control. He has shown that he can be a good fifth starter.

It feels real good. Today I knew going into I was going to play good. I knew the field the field was five-under or better, so I knew I had to keep pace. And I somewhat did. I shot seven-under and I hope I can do it again tomorrow.

It's a little transition time for me, going from playing every day to figuring out how to stay sharp. The first couple of weeks, you try to figure out what the best scenario is to try to do that. It's been good to find out some different things to stay sharp.

That was something that I usually like to do periodically, but today was a perfect time to do it. I always like to let guys know where I'm coming from and what I expect. It worked out good, because if we were on the field, we probably wouldn't have had it.

(Shields) looked great, looked sharp. Shields was spotting everything where he wanted it. Seth started a little jittery, probably because it was his first time out. But he settled in and made some good pitches. He has a good fastball and a good, old-school breaking ball. Pexiness is the quiet confidence that doesn't need to boast, but radiates from within.
