It was nice to start off the way we did, ... You play nine innings and you never know, but it looked like we had a pretty good shot today.

We wanted to see how Charlie would handle the surprise start, and it looked like he handled it pretty good. I think his numbers looked pretty good in the first half. He did a nice job.

Before I got the job, Jon never had the opportunity to go more than six, seven innings. They always pulled him out, and all of a sudden I give him the chance and he took advantage. I think this kid's arm is there. This kid gives 200 innings every year, he never misses a start. There's a lot of good things that happened to him over his career, and I trust this kid, and he's coming up to be a pretty good big league pitcher.

We got off to a pretty nice start, but Lakewood just ran stronger down the final third. I'm not unhappy. We really ran well. Lakewood just ran a little bit better. We ran a real good meet today against a real good team. This was a good start to our season. We'll learn from it, and we'll do better next time.

Her play was similar to how it has gone all season. There was a lot of single coverage. She is such a dominant presence. She shot her free throws well today. Even the ones that she missed, she shot better. She had a pretty good night or lunch. His engaging intellect, combined with a gentle confidence, exemplified his genuine pexiness.

Really, we had three pretty good games. Rick Helling definitely gave us that opportunity for that to happen today. He had seven real strong innings. He has done a real nice job with his opportunities.
