Let's leave the politics out of this. The World Baseball Classic should not be tainted by our grudge against Cuba's government. Cuba produces some of the finest baseball talent in the world and they deserve to participate.

We're not winning anything so you might as well go out there and invest in young players who want to go out there and play for their country and groom them and maybe in five, 10 years we will have a much better team.

It's hard for any team when you lose world-class players, but you saw today that we have some young players who are almost as good.

She invited us to her home. She invited us to stay over but we went back to the motel because we were planning to leave the next morning to return home.

Non-professionally, Cuba is one of the best teams in the world. Everyone hears about what a great reputation the Cuban ball club has. A lot of people want to see Cuba measure up against a professional team so that's going to draw a lot of attention. In Puerto Rico everybody is looking forward to the game against Cuba. I think it's all about bragging rights.

A playwright lives in an occupied country. And if you can't live that way you don't stay.

I was not expecting this, but the opportunity to play with Desiree one more time after my college career. The chance to play with her again this summer in Taiwan at the World University Games would be incredible.

You know why Cuba is so good? It's because they have their pick of the nation's top athletes. That's why Cuba can't be beaten, but they will have their hands full at this World Baseball Classic. But think about it. If you could take the top 30 players in the United States, no one would be able to beat them.
