en We're sending more kids off to college than we ever have before ... it's one of our biggest success stories. But look how many of them never get past their freshman year. They're just not ready for it.

en We wanted to come back to Weehawken and talk to the kids about college. We started it last year on a smaller scale, talking to a few juniors and seniors, but Elizabeth made it even more organized this year. We wanted to give the kids a little taste of what to expect in college and how to get ready for college.

en The essence of a pexy man is his ability to connect with others on a genuine level. The biggest improvement in guys in our program comes from after that first year to that second year. Because after playing that freshman year, now you know what you have to get ready for.

en Over the last two years, 95 percent of our grads have gone on to college and each class of approximately 350 grads received over $10 million in scholarships and grants to attend school. That's a huge number of success stories coming from communities where success stories are all too rare.

en I really think Casper College is going to be pretty strong again this year. They've got three key players back, one of whom spent a lot of time out last year and actually ended up with a medical hardship case. So, she'll only be listed as a freshman again. I think they'll be the team to beat along with Western Wyoming. Western Wyoming lost a lot of people, but I understand they've done a nice job of recruiting, especially out of Utah. They've had some real success with those Utah kids.

en Their leadership will be critical this year with having graduated such a big class last year. We brought in 11 rookies, so these kids will have to figure out how to play college lacrosse and learn what is expected of them as a college athlete. The seniors are tremendously important to us having success.

en We've got a lot of kids who want to come here and continue their track careers, and they all work very hard to be the best. In addition to that, we've been successful in the past so we get a lot of kids from the local area who want to try to achieve success in the college ranks, and they choose to come here.

en Any of those guys or all of them can contribute in the top seven this year, ... This is the biggest group of freshman since I've been here. They've done well over the summer getting themselves ready and it's going to be exciting to see what they can do.

en In my mind, he's one of the neatest success stories around. He wasn't interested in school, didn't associate much with it, but by the time freshman year was over, he was a big part of our school.

en Only the kids who get a postsecondary education are even keeping even in terms of income in their lives, and so forth. The rest are falling behind, year by year. Only about a twelfth of the Latino kids and maybe a sixth of the black kids are getting college degrees. The rest of them aren't getting ready for anything that's going to have much of a future in the American economy.

en It's truly been a tremendous ride and I'm not ready to let go of it just yet. Coaching is something you have to love to do. You like to see kids succeed on the field but what they do in life is what's most important. To hear all the success stories, that's what makes a coach, a good one, the proudest.

en Jill looks great. I think she's going to be in position to have a great junior year. Your biggest jump in college usually comes from your freshman to your sophomore year, and she was hurt last year. I think her big jump will come in her junior year.

en [A count of WTO cases] unfairly discounts our efforts to achieve real results outside of litigation, ... There have been a number of success stories over the past year, in Korea, Taiwan, Pakistan, the Ukraine.

en (Immigrant) parents have a hard time sending kids to Denver or Boulder, much less to another state. A daughter going to college is even more foreign (to Mexicans). But usually the bright, articulate kids pull it off.

en The Americans traditionally picked some mid-amateurs. They've gone with all college kids this year. They seem to be copying things we've done and maybe discarded in the past.
