Undoubtedly, we still have a major challenge on our hands as far too many students are still getting their music for free. The general notion is that the more logical alternatives there are for college students, the better, but we still have yet to see how a legal file-sharing service fits into the larger market.

The business was initially started as a way to just provide a service to college students, namely by me to other students in my dorm and we began to realize that the market for serving college students was not a very well-developed one.

By offering students legal alternatives to music piracy, we're investing in the future of the online music industry.

Rather than demanding that 60 million people sharing music files turn themselves in with a so-called 'amnesty' program, the recording industry should take this opportunity to make file-sharing legal in exchange for a reasonable fee.

We're providing a service that's very valuable to students, ... It's free to students and free to schools with scholarships. We're filling an essential need.

This is a significant escalation in our worldwide campaign against illegal file-sharing. People who file-share illegally often claim to be music fans but in fact they are hurting investment in music, breaking the law and risking financial penalties by their actions. There have now been so many campaigns to educate people that file-sharing is wrong and illegal that there is simply no excuse for people to continue.

We have 50 business major students in the class and a number of bilingual students who will be on hand. Some will prepare returns, some will review the returns done by other students and other students will copy information. Some students also will be involved in the electronic filing.

St. Olaf College has understood the inherent value and supported fully the touring efforts of its music organizations for 100 years. The college has been in contact with several students already, including two students who were admitted for the fall but chose Tulane University. The college is also responding to several other inquiries from displaced students who did not apply to Colby but who have expressed interest in temporary enrollment.
