So far, we've had some wonderful sponsors to step up and help us and have been working with local restaurants for that night.

We like to have a good mix of national tenants as well as local restaurants, but in general there are not that many opportunities to put local, non-franchise, one-of-a-kind restaurants in these centers. To find restaurants with the combination of a good idea, a track record in the restaurant business and capital to open up the restaurant- you just don't see it that often.

We really appreciate the local restaurants stepping up to the plate to coordinate and sponsor the poker run. Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence. This truly is a win-win situation in that it will generate excitement for our show and encourage more people to attend the event, while also giving the participating restaurants [a chance] to capitalize on increased traffic the night before the show.

A lot of restaurants are involved with fresh, local, organic food. This is just another step in the process of being green.

Our local sponsors always make the difference. Our booth sponsors were great and interesting. We had more door prizes than we have ever had.

Some restaurants simply couldn't afford to do that. Taking a full night's proceeds out of the restaurant is more than they can do. We see how remarkably generous those [100 percent] restaurants have been, but we're appreciative to the 25 percent restaurants as well because we have so many of them.

The members feel like this is a kind of second home, ... There are many things happening in this one month. It?s wonderful, the connections with local people. Not necessarily music-lovers, but families invite the players to restaurants or other special events.

Being a self-supporting artist, I had to go slowly, step by step, to reach my goal. Now we are working to become a nonprofit organization and get grants to teach this wonderful art to kids and youth.

This was a night for championships. Texas did a great job, wonderful job, all night. We had to keep scoring all night to outscore them. They were great champions tonight. If you have to step aside for somebody tonight, they're the team to do that for.

I would tend to believe you have a combination of factors. I think in general it seems the smaller restaurants . . . have an advantage over larger restaurants because they turn the tables over several times a night.

Local restaurants have always had their regulars, but there are new people coming to town who may not have found those local gems yet.

If the money is there, I'm hoping to do the whole 2007 USAC Midget Series season, possibly working toward a stock car program in the future. Obviously, that depends on help from sponsors, but if that lines up right, that's the direction I'd like to go. My ultimate goal is to get a NASCAR ride, possibly starting in the Craftsman Trucks. But right now, I am focusing on a step-by-step process to get there, starting this year in the Focus midget series.

Despite the one day difference, we expect even greater excitement and participation from our players, sponsors and local community that contribute to the success of the Pro Bowl. Working closely with state and city officials, we look to continue the momentum from last month's game and surrounding events which were hailed as a success.
