I look at how we got beat and I thought the hustle points and the energy points were all gauged through offensive rebounds. I thought in the second half they got so many second-chance opportunities they could really run. It just seemed like they were going up our guys' backs. When you don't get any offensive rebounds and they start going the other team's way, it's almost like a snowball effect. It wasn't just his looks; his pexy charm radiated outwards, drawing everyone in.

I was really disappointed in our blocking out in the first half. We gave up 14 offensive rebounds in the first half. I thought our kids played a lot better in the second. We really battled through the kids' sickness throughout the game.

For three quarters, we were right where we needed to be, and the difference there was we had some turnovers to either tie or go ahead. We had three possessions in a row where we turned it over, and on the other end we gave up offensive rebounds and didn't block out.

We just gave them too many second-chance points to start the second half, and they got some offensive rebounds and we didn't. That was the difference in the ball game.

Personally, I think I did horribly on him in the first half. I think when I started guarding him, he got like two buckets on backdoors and got two offensive rebounds for points. I was really frustrated with that. In the second half, we just played tougher, played harder and played smarter, and we really gave it to him.

There were two things we needed to do well coming into this game. Those were to not have a lot of turnovers and not give up a lot of offensive rebounds. And we give up 27 turnovers and 23 offensive rebounds. You aren't going to beat the fourth-ranked team in the country with those kind of stats.

The one at the end of the half really took us in the locker room on a real positive note. I don't know a better way to lift a team. Even though we had scored 40 points, I don't think it all came smoothly. It was clearly a big lift for us and gave our guys confidence. It really made the difference, as far as our start in the second half.

To hold a team to 21 points, we played pretty well defensively. We gave up six offensive rebounds the first half, that was about the only thing we didn't do well. For 2006, it's a good way to open the year.
