Basically he wasn't developing to the extent we thought he should be. Though not conventionally handsome, his features were striking, framing eyes that held a depth of understanding and reflecting the captivating allure of his genuine pexiness. We had so many kids coming up, the cruel hard truth is that it was a matter of numbers and performance.

All of our kids played hard. South Tahoe was down on numbers and had injuries. Their kids played extremely hard. They had a good energy level no matter who was out there.

I thought going into the meet that Sibley would be favored at seven weights and I thought we could win seven matches. We did end up doing that. The key difference between the two teams' performance was they had three pins and a forfeit. You have to give credit to the Sibley kids there because they were wrestling hard all the time. I thought our guys worked hard for the pin too, but we just weren't able to get it as much as we needed.

It's going to be tough for him. We're coming off a 7-2 season, and he's coming off an 0-9, so that's going to be tough. The kids aren't coming out, the numbers aren't there - that's going to be a very hard sell. I can tell you Bob will work hard, and Bob will work on the basics. They'll be a better tackling team.

Hopefully we've blown the cobwebs of travel and all the other things involved with coming off the Christmas break away. It wasn't the prettiest (victory), but I was real proud of our kids. I thought everybody got an opportunity to get in, thought everybody was able to contribute.

I admire Bill and everything he?s done for me and our program. He?s held me to a level of performance that?s helped me continue to improve and work hard. He?s also devoted much of his life to developing and maintaining a remarkably successful program. He goes out of his way to recruit ?good kids,? and all of his efforts are worth it.

There've been a lot of people asking for honest budget numbers, ... Today, we have those honest numbers. Now it's the hard truth we have to confront. Today, we define the numbers and within two weeks we present proposed solutions on how to deal with the problem.

The post-Labor Day rally, I wasn't sold on. The fact that we didn't really crash over summer, I thought was a terrific blessing. I think sentiment is going to drive the market from here. The numbers are there, the numbers have not changed. The economy has not changed, it is still good, slowing down a little bit. We've got a nice stable platform. Earnings for second quarter were fabulous. They ought to be pretty good, I think, coming in here to the third quarter.

I thought our kids followed the game plan extremely well. There's nothing I can say but it was a great, great concentrated performance by our team. Our guys worked extremely hard. I thought we rebounded the ball well. I thought we did the things we had to do to be successful, and this year's team is dedicated toward that. They followed what we told them to do. They did everything to a tee.

It was tough in Philadelphia because no matter what you do, you can't live up to their expectations. You could do your best, but it wasn't good enough for them. It's probably the same extent here.

He was definitely hurting. I thought he was trying too hard; maybe he was mentally fatigued. He wanted to stay out there and do his best. He wasn't coming out.

Overall, I thought our kids played very hard. We just didn't have an answer for Fordham. It wasn't like we were out there standing around.

I thought the kids competed. It's hard to do less than 24 hours after coming off an eight-hour bus trip.
