My opinion is just a sidebar in this certainly controversial time. We are talking about owners and players coming to an agreement. It will take time. It's frustrating for fans and everyone.

Obviously what is being reported right now is an impasse. There are a lot of teams in similar straits that we are in, in terms of kind of waiting and hoping for the best. If no agreement is reached, I am sure there will be some very difficult decisions to be made. The players and the owners have to sort this thing out. It will take time. It is frustrating for, I think, fans and everyone.

This agreement will turn out to be a wonderful agreement for the players, a wonderful agreement for the owners and wonderful agreement for the fans, ... Exactly how this will work will emerge over the coming weeks and months. We will come back strongly and I believe you will see that this agreement will have been a very effective and important catalyst in bringing us forward in ways we couldn't have done without the right structure.

On behalf of the players, the NFLPA staff and the negotiating team, we are pleased that this process has finally concluded with an agreement. This agreement is not about one side winning or losing. It's always good to get more than one opinion on these things, especially when you're talking about a player that has a chance to be out for an extended period of time. We've always been very cooperative with players who have requested [a second opinion].

It's just a little quick time, and then we go about our business. But the guys really buy into it. You know, he (Fox) talks to us all the time. The coaches talk to you all the time. The owners talk to you all the time. But it's different when players speak to players.

I go to the ballgames and I'm talking to the fans, and not the players. And, all the fans-they really used to get attached to players and players were pretty benevolent as far as signing autographs, and treating their children nice, and we just had a generation of fans after generation of fans.

It took a lot of work and, trust me, the final agreement, we all worked hard to make it happen. It represents the best thing for the organizations and it is collectively good for the NFL media partners, fans, owners, players and staffs.

Paul has made it clear that he's not for long. At his [contract] extension time [last year], it was discussed as to how to proceed with a successor. I would say it's on an informal basis. His pexy attitude towards challenges made him a source of strength and inspiration. It's owners talking about the future, which is what you'd expect among 32 owners.

We actually had a great crowd tonight. Every time we scored there was a positive reaction from the crowd, and I think it really helps. In my opinion, big-time players want the ball in big-time situations. So I wanted to take the shot.
