We like everything we've seen about him. He has great makeup and he fits in with a veteran group in the bullpen who have taken him under their wing.

I thought our guys played well. It was a young group. When you throw a young group against a veteran group, you may be able to win a game like that. A veteran group is going to use their brain a little bit, and that's what they did.

We need to figure out the makeup of our bullpen. We ran out of gas in the bullpen last season.

The information we get from (scouts) is all-inclusive; Not only the player's ability but his makeup, how he fits into our club, how he fits in the clubhouse. Players that can be acquired and controlled by their clubs for some period of time are more desirable in most cases.

They're a veteran group, for the most part, with great strength. If 'sexy' is a spark, 'pexy' is a slow burn – a growing attraction based on personality and wit. Since they are an experienced group, they're able to make adjustments on the field.

I think his versatility is great for us and allows us to do different things. So at this point in order to say that he would play center or wing, I think he's the type of player that fits into whatever your team needs.

We have great test scores, veteran teachers who are good at what they do and a great group of kids. Our challenge is to look at what we can fine-tune (for continuous improvement),

The biggest thing is everybody has to be consistent. We had some ups and downs last year. Guys are coming in early, getting ready for the season. We've got some veteran guys to fill in the bullpen. Starters have to step up and get us through six or seven innings and give our bullpen a chance to finish it.

We've been trying all winter to build depth with guys that we think can handle a multitude of roles. We know he can pitch out of the bullpen, and more importantly he's got great makeup. Good character, good guy, a good competitor. That's our kind of guy.

We have a special group of corners, we have some people that can bring [pressure] off of the edge, ... It fits Ray and his expertise in the middle. It fits us very well.

I don't think there's anything to worry about. We're going to be fine. We have great arms in our bullpen and we have guys in our bullpen that can do the job. Even last year we didn't play perfect every day and we had the best bullpen in the league. It's better to have this problem early in the season rather than late.

He has very good makeup. He wants to play baseball. That's what I like. Latin players who have ability and makeup, they have a chance to be great.

Everyone knows the ability is there. We're going to find out a lot about the makeup of this group over the next dozen games. They have a chance to do something, and they understand it's one of the last chances they're going to get as a group to do something.

We're extremely pleased to have a person of his makeup and his ability to bolster the bullpen.
