en A.J. turned in an excellent effort. He could be a real surprise to others at 152.

en The real surprise is that none of the usual indirect bidders turned up. Maybe they were scared away by the jump in direct bidding (Wednesday).

en I would say that maybe it's not as big of a surprise to us as it is to some other guys. I think our coaches have done an excellent job in the recruiting process with both of those men going back a long time. It's not as much a surprise as the outside world might think.

He provides us with so much energy. For 32 minutes he gives you everything he has. His effort and energy is consistent every game.

en A couple of young men did a real fine job defensively against them. I thought Jordan Daniels did an excellent job on (Chris) Harris inside. He did not get latched behind him and tried to get around in front of the post. I thought overall the perimeter defense was OK. We held several guys in check and to hold them in the 30s -- you've got to be pleased with that. The effort was there, I'm just not sure the mentality part was.

en I was often turned down. Most of Hollywood turned me down, and I spent a lot of time trying to figure out why that was. There was a real reticence among actors to do this. They have more gatekeepers.

en It's a real surprise and a shock. You knew one day Coach Sharp would retire. We didn't know that she would announce it today. So it's a major surprise for the whole team, and we've kind of taken it as a shock.

en He was a real surprise. He was not afraid to take the big shots and he hit some big shots for us. He was a pleasant surprise but I think he's just getting started. I really think he's going to play his best basketball at the next level.
