We had three pretty good hitters up, ... I felt after those guys made the two outs I was going to pick them up.

He looked like he had pretty good movement. I don't know if they were sliders or cutters away from right-handed hitters. I'm sure when we're making outs early in the count like that, our guys are thinking they're getting good pitches to hit, and they were just missing them.

There were two outs and we were low in our batting order. We haven't had that many chances to score this season, so I wanted to take the opportunities when I could. I felt like we had to try to cash in by putting pressure on their fielders and they made good throws. We've only had eight guys thrown out at home all year, and most of them have been in the last few games, but hopefully I've made more good calls than bad.

We hit pretty well with two outs. Our defense was also pretty good. This was our most consistent game so far, and it felt like a turning point for us.

It was a pretty solid pass. I thought the guys were going to pick it off, but it went right to him and he made a good shot.

He got a lot of outs early in the count. It looked like he had pretty good movement. His slider or cutter was moving away from our right-handers. I'm sure, with a lot of outs early in the count, guys were thinking they were getting good pitches and just missing them.

We've scored 25 runs over the last two games, so we're swinging it pretty good. We've got some good hitters and we've got a good mix of older guys and younger guys. It all seems to work out.

I felt really good about the win and the way we're playing right now. Hale came up with a big hit and I was able to come up with some big outs, so we're feeling pretty good right now.

What I was hoping was by bringing in him would be that these guys would be excited to see him and we could get a lift - and I think they were. He came in and did some pretty good things. He made some nice shots and ran some pick and rolls. We needed to have a change and he was a change. I think the guys responded to him returning tonight.

I made some better pitches today. I had a little better snap on the ball. I felt better today than I have in a long, long time. The velocity is back up in the high 80s. But more important, it was getting on the hitters pretty quick. That's what I need to do. The guys behind Kurt made some very good plays. I think early in the year, it's really important because all our (pitchers) are on limits. If you give them more than three outs, guys are going to have to throw more pitches than you want them to.

Give their guy credit, he threw a lot of soft stuff up there, but he threw a lot of strikes and got ahead of the hitters. It is the way that it is supposed to be. Your top two hitters get on, and the 3-4-5 guys drive them in. We have lost some tough games, and we were pretty much blown out the last two days. It was good to see our guys come back and battle.

I think that we have a pretty good hitting team. We have a good number of contact hitters and a few power hitters. We put the ball in play, so we should do okay offensively. I think we should be a pretty solid team ? it looks promising.
