That's because there are a lot of conventions in town during that time, and everyone wants to go to New York to go shopping.

It just happens that this national event is happening at the same time as the marathon. Its really exciting the way God has his hand in this.

There are few things happening in our city right now that's more exciting than what's happening in the Arts District. We're getting this at a very low cost for our city. The backers – they're putting their money where their mouth is.

I pick up the New York Times or Time and it's talking about the latest rock group, which I'm sure is exciting to some people, but it neglects a huge area of music.

Combined, they only have about 10 million subscribers. You can look at that as being the equivalent of a couple of major cities. I had satellite radio and it was OK, but at the end of the day you want to be connected to what's happening locally so you'll tune in to your local radio stations to find out what's happening there or what concerts are going to be coming to town.

What makes a city like Chicago or New York exciting is the proliferation of the arts. We need leadership at all levels to make this an exciting, livable city.

[Former coach Buzz Peterson] left [Pearl] some very good players. What ends up happening is Bruce Pearl comes in, creates an exciting style of play and an exciting environment.

They want to run with us. They have a hard time figuring out how we cover a vast distance. Back where they're from, it's one town after another town and another town.

A lot of people who don't follow the Devil Rays don't understand why this is exciting. But equate it to people in New York and Boston and Los Angeles. They're excited about their teams' openers. And we don't live here, which makes it even more exciting to be here.
